The secret to not caring what other people think

Have you ever wanted to stop being a people-pleaser?

I imagine many of you are nodding your heads “yes.”

People-pleasing is a thing that we want to stop doing, but the advice we usually get for how to do it is just plain old unrealistic.

Because it typically involves trying to change our brains on the spot.

Unfortunately, we’re not just going to all of a sudden stop thinking about the things that matter to us and make us people-pleasers in the first place — if that were possible, we would have done it already! 🙃

Instead of trying to change what matters to you, I’ve got a tip for what you can do instead.

The secret to not caring about what other people think is to start caring more about something else instead. Click the video below to find out what it is.

Have I told you about my instant NYT Best Selling book, “Take Back Your Brain”?

You might have heard me mention it a few times over the last 6 months or so 😉 but if you haven’t ordered your very own copy yet, now’s the time.

This short, easy-to-read book will introduce you to the key pillars of changing your thoughts, your smart brain, and by extension … the rest of your incredible life.

This book is absolutely for you if you already know about thought work and how socialization impacts your brain. It will take your understanding deeper and give you new exercises and tools to use that you’ve never seen before (and you’re going to love what you learn).

But this book is also absolutely for you if you’re totally new to these ideas. It lays out my most cutting-edge concepts, making them easy to digest AND implement in your life. It covers everything, including my theory of mental socialization and feminist thought change for women, from start to finish.

It’s basically the best way to go deeper with your journey to kicking the patriarchy out of your head even if you’ve never listened to a single second of the podcast … or read anything or than these emails from me!

This week on the podcast...

Episode 349: How to Stop Giving a F*ck What Other People Think

In celebration of Independence Day, I’m discussing one of the ultimate forms of independence — breaking free from caring about what others think. As social creatures, humans have evolved to rely on relationships for survival, making us sensitive to others’ opinions. However, this conditioning is often even deeper for women and can impact every aspect of their lives, including their careers, relationships, self-worth, parenting, and so much more. If you want to stop obsessing over what others think and start living unapologetically, where do you begin?

Join me as I dive into why women struggle with this issue and provide actionable steps to rewire your brain and liberate yourself from this mental burden.
