Are you having a hard time finding balance these days?

Maybe you feel overwhelmed by the news and everything that is happening in the country right now so your nervous system has just shut down, and everything feels exhausted and heavy.

(Alternatively, you might be more of an active worrier, and you can’t really get anything done because your brain is jumping around from story to story, from fear to fear.)

Or maybe it’s just your personal life that feels overwhelming right now, between work, family, health, hobbies, and everything else you’re supposed to balance.

Whatever it is, for so many of us the last few months have just felt RELENTLESS.

The chronic stress is taking a toll on our mental and emotional health and vitality. How could it not!

And yet we also have to go to work (or look for a new job), feed ourselves, take care of our pets or kids … all while trying to not have a nervous breakdown ourselves.

There have been some bright spots, news-wise (that Wisconsin Supreme court seat election!), but it doesn’t seem like our circumstances are going to be changing anytime soon.

The good news is that we can change how we react to them.

It’s not about feeling amazing all the time.

It’s about feeling RESILIENT, even in hard times.

It’s possible to navigate choppy waters — personal, professional, political, or all three — without capsizing or drowning.

:: So you might get that sinking feeling when you read the news … but your brain will help you get a grip faster, and find something productive to do instead of scroll.

:: You might still get mad at your kids when you’re stressed …but your brain will help you calm down and approach the situation more compassionately, instead of yelling and then feeling bad about yourself.

:: Your brain may start its anxious speculating about the future … but then it will check itself and you’ll step out of that downward spiral before it takes over.

I promise that it’s possible to acknowledge your problems, and still take action to solve them … And the same goes for the world’s problems too.

Because you’re no use to yourself or anyone else when you’re lying on the floor too overwhelmed to move, or running around in circles too anxious to focus.

You are best prepared to be your best self in not-the-best conditions when you have emotional resilience and mental power.

These are two things I’m an expert at helping women create.

I’m Kara Loewentheil, and I’m the author of a New York Times bestselling book all about how women can create more peace and power by changing the way they think — and my work doesn’t shy away from confronting things like politics, systems, and discrimination.

Instead it empowers you to live a better life in an imperfect world — because if we put our lives on hold until everything is “fixed” we’ll be on hold forever.

That’s why I’ve put together this free playlist of the six best podcast episodes I have for creating emotional resilience in difficult times.

Each episode is short, to the point, and full of powerful reframes you can start using right away to feel better and get more done now.

Just enter your name and email and we’ll send the playlist straight to your email.

(And don’t worry, it stays with us — we never sell or share your data!)

Praise for the Podcast

It really helped a lot. I love the place of empowerment when we are able to regulate ourselves and turn our energy into the change we want to see.”

As a neurodivergent black woman I’ve struggled my entire life with so many of the things that Kara discusses on her podcast. I’m currently in therapy and it has done NOTHING for me compared to the way I feel after listening daily. I just want to say that every day she makes me feel more & more secure in myself.

I was anxiously scrolling one night, drinking, numbing, and came across the podcast. I listened to the perfectionist fantasy episode, bawled, and have been in love with it ever since.
