Go from “why am I like this” to “I’m going to change this” with a group of women determined to stop shrinking and start speaking up for themselves.

Shift Your Beliefs

Change your thoughts and feelings with a three-step framework you’ll apply to your own unique situations now and in the future, with support every step of the way.

Change Your Life

Learn to trust yourself enough to tell the truth about how you feel and ask for what you want, so you can create a life where you’re seen, heard, and get what you want.

There’s a reason it feels impossible to speak up for yourself.

(and it’s not a personal failure, character flaw, or “something wrong with you”)

When I was a child, I had a lot of feelings and opinions — and quickly learned it was a bad thing. I was told I was too picky. Too dramatic. Too sensitive.

Eventually those whispers stopped being an external voice and became my own.

It’s not that important.

I don’t really need it.

It’s too much to ask for. It’s not a big deal.

I tried to outrun that voice, working my way through Yale, Harvard, a federal appellate court clerkship, multiple fellowships, running a think tank, and the stamp of approval from pretty much every institution that was supposed to matter…all without ever taking up too much space.

And yet that voice remained. Too demanding. Too needy. Too much.

That Voice Doesn’t Care About Your Accomplishments

Maybe you’re a doctor, a professor, or a CEO. Maybe you run a team of eighty people – or a household of kids. Maybe your inner voice has spent a lifetime promising you peace if only you lose the weight, get the promotion, find the partner, have the family.

I know, I’ve been there.

  • You can run a courtroom, but you cannot tell your mother-in-law she can’t stay for three weeks
  • You have the most incredible friends, but you cannot get a man to text you back
  • You can run an ultra-marathon but cannot tell your dad he hurt your feelings
  • You can raise hell when someone you care about is disrespected, but fail to open your mouth when someone disrespects you

You know you should speak up for yourself, yet you don’t. Maybe even feel like you can’t. And then you wonder what the hell is wrong with you.

Women Are Conditioned To Accommodate Everyone Else First

Early and thoroughly, usually by people who love us. Be nice. Don’t be difficult. Don’t make a scene. We read the room, then adjust ourselves to fit it. And by the time we’re adults, it’s our entire personality.

This is what a sexist culture does to a smart woman’s brain. It doesn’t stop you believing in equality for women. It just makes an exception for you.

This is the most important thing on this page ↓

Saying yes when you mean no once won’t destroy your self-esteem. But a lifetime of swallowing your own desires, needs, dignity, self-respect, and preferences creates a woman who believes she doesn’t matter.

Now Take A Moment And Imagine Your Future Fearless Self.

Same job, same partner, same in-laws. Except you speak up for what you want.

→ You tell her mother-in-law she can stay for a week, or you’re happy to arrange a hotel nearby – but indefinite visits are a thing of the past.

→ You ask for a 10% raise, which compounds into more freedom, more fun, and more opportunities year over year.

→ You don’t need to tell your husband to help you with the dishes because he’s already drying them off (he’s been doing it since you spoke about sharing the household labor more equitably six months ago).

You don’t need a new personality to become her.

I’m willing to bet you’ve tried to speak up for yourself in the past, but it either backfired or was ignored. And that solidified your resolve to just bite your tongue even further.

The reality is, speaking up is an art, and it takes courage to look inside yourself. To identify your true feelings under years of programming, and to build not only the skill to advocate for yourself and ask for what you want, but to do so gracefully, powerfully, and effectively.

You are fully capable of becoming the woman who says what she means and asks for what she wants. You’ve just never been shown the way.

If you’re sitting there like, damn, she just nailed my inner monologue…

Then it’s time to do something about it.

INTRODUCING MY NEW SIGNATURE PROGRAM

Speak Up!

A live coaching program where you’ll identify where you’ve been biting your tongue (and why), prove those reasons wrong in real time, and start speaking up for what you want.

When I dove into this work, my most ambitious goals were to lose weight and to stop crying at every family event.

But years of therapy coaching trained me to examine my thoughts, the systems that created those thoughts, and then rewire them into new ones.

And along the way, I created a framework for speaking up for myself regardless of how I felt (or how many NO’s I received) that showed me I could create anything I wanted – one ask at a time.

A decade later, I’ve…

  • stopped dieting and learned to love my body
  • made peace with my family
  • found and married the perfect-for-me man
  • published a New York Times Bestseller
  • started a feminist mindset movement
  • created an internationally top-ranking podcast
  • learned how to be a parent who doesn’t lose herself in the role

I’ve coached 15,000+ women on how to feel worthy and deserving of asking for what they want – and getting it.

And I want to help you do the same.

Speak Up! is not another checklist, affirmation, breathing exercise, or promise that you will magically be eager to do the hard thing you’ve been avoiding on the other side.

In fact (spoiler alert), you’re going to learn how to do it even when you don’t feel fully confident.

Speak Up! is the bridge between knowing you should speak up for yourself and actually becoming the woman who does

By the time you’ve completed this program…

You’re going to know exactly how to speak up for yourself, have the hard conversations you’ve been avoiding, and go for what you want – proving to your self-doubts, criticisms, and inner dialogue that you are, in fact, worth it.

THE SPEAK UP! FRAMEWORK

You’re going to get familiar with a simple, repeatable framework you’ll be able to apply to every situation you find yourself in —  so you can speak up for yourself, name what you want, and actually get it.

1) IDENTIFY

Discover where you’re shrinking.

Identify the needs, feelings, and desires you’ve been silencing. Get clear on what you actually really want, underneath all the noise, programming, and others you’ve put first.

2) PLAN & PREPARE

Map the beliefs that are blocking your action (and how to change them)

Change the thoughts you need to change. Sort out which objections are real and which are old systems that need rewiring.

3) PRACTICE

Take the actions you need to get what you really want.

Speak your true feelings and wants out loud, regardless of the outcome. Build resilience and confidence in real-time, with support, accountability, and guidance along the way.

— The Kind Of Success My Students Have —

“In 48 hours I have applied to 15 jobs and received a call from a local hospital that doesn’t even have an open position begging me to join their team! I’m holding out because I’m actually looking FORWARD to interviewing and bragging myself up a bit! I’ve never known what “knowing your worth” felt like or meant.”

HOW TO JOIN SPEAK UP!

There are two ways to participate in Speak Up!, and both include live calls and cover the same core tools and practices. The difference is how much individual attention you’ll receive.

Both tiers include:

  • 16 Live Online Sessions Across Ten Weeks
Live sessions to learn it, and live coaching to do it, with me and my coaches, in real time.

  • The Replay Vault
Every session, slide deck, and worksheet saved in one place, so you can come back to it whenever you need it.

  • Weekly Written Assignments
One a week, on paper, about your own life. You’ll work on mapping the moments you shrink and what feelings come up.

  • A Private Cohort Community
The same women, every week, from October to December, supporting each other through the asks, the wins, the setbacks, and the triumphs.

  • Your Confident Life Continuation Plan
A post-program assignment for after our time together ends, so the method keeps working when the calls stop.

Plus, I’m throwing in some bonuses…

The Cost Of Silence

The 10% raise you don’t ask for is $5,000, $15,000, or even $50,000 depending where you’re at in your career. Not asking, this year, costs more than this program.

Five years from now, that number is positively enormous. If this program teaches you how to speak up for yourself even a little bit, you’ve already returned your investment.

(And telling your MIL she can’t drop by unannounced? Absolutely priceless!)

— What My Clients Are Saying —

“Today actually made me realize how far I've come...in believing I can do this, and also in being willing to feel the feelings required to have it. Every second of feeling the fear is worth it to build a life I actually want.”
— Kelsey Seppa

THE FULL CURRICULUM

PHASE 1: IDENTIFY

Weeks 1–3 · Oct 5 – Oct 25

We start by helping you identify what it is you want.  We’ll help you get clear on the things you’ve never asked for, and the conversations you’ve been holding back from. Then we go underneath them. You’ll learn what it actually looks like inside you when you’re not telling the truth, which parts of yourself you’ve been suppressing to keep the peace, and the reasons women silence themselves in the first place.

You’ll have one live teaching call a week, complete a written assignment (including your Suppression Journal), and start building your speak up muscles by making small asks.

Weeks 4–6 · Oct 26 – Nov 15

A belief you’ve held for thirty years feels like a fact, which is exactly why you’ve never questioned it. Here you learn to catch that thought in the act, examine it, and introduce new concepts in steps small enough that your brain and nervous system can keep up.

Not knowing what to say may be your problem. Saying it out loud definitely is. Most of what stops you isn’t the conversation; it’s the feeling you’re expecting to have during it, and this is where you learn to stay with that feeling instead of numbing it, managing it, or waiting for it to pass before you open your mouth.

Plan and prep week closes with three integration calls where you take everything and build it into one plan. The ask you’ve been circling for years, the conversations you’ve been ignoring, what you’re going to say, and the new beliefs that will carry you through the experience.

Weeks 7–10 · Nov 16 – Dec 11

You make the ask, have the conversation, speak your want. The raise, the rate, the division of labor, the thing you’ve never said to your mother. Three weeks to plan it, do it, and handle what comes back, with live coaching on either side of the conversation. You’ll get coached before you walk in, so you know exactly what you’re going to say and what you’ll do with the fear when it shows up. And you’ll get coached after you walk out, whether you got a yes, a no, or a “let me think about it.”

This is also where the skill stops being about one conversation. By now you’ve been making small asks and telling the truth about how you feel for weeks, and it’s starting to feel like something you do instead of something you’re working up to. The big conversation is proof. The habit is the point.

Week ten, we look at what actually happened and what you now know about your own brain that you didn’t in October. Then we look forward, because what you want tends to get bigger once you’ve learned you can ask for it.

— What People Are Saying About Working With Kara —

“I came in with the goal of working out whether I was going to stay with someone I really love but who could not decide if they wanted a child. I stated to my partner he needed to make a decision, with the absolute clarity that I had not been standing up for my own goals out of the fear of scarcity of them not being possible. And he left. My heart was broken. It felt like my world fell apart, but you know what? It also felt right. Cut to six months later and about 20+ notebooks worth of thought work, we are now living together, very happily, very peacefully, and trying for kids."
— Anna

HERE’S EXACTLY WHAT YOU’LL WALK AWAY WITH

→ The ability to say how you feel, what you want, or what you need in the moment.
Not two weeks later, not in the car on the way home, not in a text you drafted four times, never sent and wish you did (but now it’s too late). You’ll identify your real feelings and say them out loud.

→ Proof that you can do it.
You’re going to actually be able to speak up. Ask for something you want. Have the hard conversation you’ve been avoiding for months (or years). Tell the truth about your feelings. And afterwards, you’ll have real evidence that you can actually follow through on doing the thing, regardless of the outcome.

→ A method you’ll use for the rest of your life.
The same framework works on the next thing, and the thing after that. You’ll know what to do the next time you catch yourself going quiet, in five years, without me.

→ The ability to let someone be disappointed in you.
Without folding, over-explaining, or offering three alternatives to soften the no. Their discomfort is allowed to exist, and it stops being yours to manage.

→ A completely different relationship with no.
Because you’ll have heard it before, worked through the feelings that came up, and survived it. That’s where the confidence to speak up really comes from, and it’s the part nobody can hand you in a book.

→ A community of women who also ask for what they want.
The same faces every week from October to December, all of them saying the things they’ve been avoiding, from every walk of life.

→ And the space to want more.
Because once you find out you can actually speak up for what you want, the dreams you have get bigger, better, and bolder.

Speak Up! Is Not For Everyone

✅ This Is For You If

❌ This Is Not For You If

• You are high functioning and competent in many areas of your life…This is for you. You run the team, the household, the crisis. Which is exactly what makes this one thing feel like a personal defect instead of what it actually is: a skill nobody taught you.

• You want a guarantee that people will say yes…This isn’t for you. You can’t control the people around you. You can control what their “no” does to you, and what you do next.

• You’ve read the books, dabbled in therapy, listened to Brené Brown, and yet still struggle…This is for you. You don’t have an understanding problem. You have a doing problem, and no amount of additional insight is going to close that gap.

• You think your boss, partner, kids, or mother-in-law have to change before you can feel better…This isn’t for you. We’ll work on what you say and how you say it. The shift happens in you, and you’ll be surprised how often the people around you adjust once it does.

• You say yes when you mean no and “I’m fine” when you’re not fine…This is for you. And you already know how that ends, six months later, when it comes out sideways at someone who didn’t deserve it.

• If you’re struggling to get out of bed…This is likely not for you. This is a coaching program, not medical treatment, and it asks you to take action on a schedule. If daily function is where you’re stuck, please get support from a therapist or psychiatrist first.

— What Women Say After Working With Kara —

"I gathered up the courage to ask, and they did give me some, but not all, of what I asked for. Eventually I found an opportunity that guaranteed more than 2x what I was making, and a better work/life balance."
— Sylwia

Our Guarantee

Do the program. Show up to the calls, turn in the assignments, and have the hard conversations – and if you get to the end of ten weeks and don’t feel you got your money’s worth, email us within 14 days of the final session, and we’ll make it right.

Questions? Excellent. I love questions.

What if I ask and the answer is no?

Then you will have learned the actual skill. I know that sounds like a dodge. It isn’t. The women who change are not the ones who get every yes. They are the ones who discover that a no is survivable, and that they can go back out and ask someone else. There is no way to get that without hearing a no at some point. You will also get more yeses than you expect.

The Challenge showed you that asking is a real skill. Speak Up! is where you build it: ten weeks of learning the tools and then using them, in real conversations, with live coaching before you walk in and after you walk out. It also goes further than asking. You’ll practice telling the truth about how you feel and having the conversations you’ve been avoiding, which the Challenge didn’t cover at all.

This is very normal and common – sometimes we feel powerful in some relationships or roles, and have a harder time speaking up in others where the stakes feel higher or we feel less safe. Speak Up! is a perfect fit either way, because we aren’t going area by area of your life. Instead we are teaching you a meta-skill that works on any area of your life where you need it – now and in the future.

For some women, in some situations, speaking up carries real risk. If you are in a relationship or a workplace where honesty could genuinely endanger you, please take that seriously and get support built for it. This program is designed for women whose barrier is fear rather than physical danger.

The program runs October 5 to December 11, and sessions are recorded, so a week where life gets in the way is not a catastrophe. However, this program was built specifically to land over the holidays, to give members an opportunity to face challenges that often come up during family events. That said, weeks seven through nine ask you to have real conversations, and there is no way to do those in the replay. Reach out to our team if you have scheduling issues at info@redesignyourmind.com.

Yes. For some people it is, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. But consider what silence has already cost you. Women rarely negotiate — in their careers or their personal relationships — and when we do, we ask for less than what we deserve. If you take what you are given, the gap isn’t $2,500. It’s compounding, emotionally and financially, and it has been for years.

If this money would genuinely destabilize you, don’t spend it. Financial stress is a bad place to empower yourself from. But if you can afford it and you’re hunting for a reason not to, notice what that is. If you’re talking yourself out of investing in yourself because you’re not sure you’re worth the return, that’s what we’re here to work on.

Not at all! We have women from all over the world in our programs. Everything is hosted live online, with replays and asynchronous written coaching support available as well – so you can get what you need no matter where you live or what your schedule is like.

No. Roughly half of the women I work with are here for home or relational aspects. Division of labor, in-laws, what you actually want in bed, the thing you have never said to your mother. The method does not care where you’re blocked, just that you are and you want to speak up.

Therapy was enormously useful to me, and I would never talk anyone out of it. It is very good at helping you understand where something came from. This program is about what you do on Tuesday at 2 p.m. when your boss asks if you can take on one more thing. Most of the women in my programs have done therapy, many for years. They arrive here because understanding the origin of a pattern turns out not to interrupt the pattern.

THE SPEAK UP! PROMISE

You’ve spent too long being the most accommodating person in every room. You’re easy to work with, easy to live with and easy to plan around. You’ve been passed over or dismissed or heard “oh you won’t mind, will you?” too many times, told to let it go because “it’s not worth it.”

But it is worth it, and so are you.

You can do another year of putting everyone else first, and burying your desires. But the woman you are deep inside is asking to be seen, heard, and prioritized.

I promise that if you do the work as assigned, stare down your belief systems, examine the truths that are holding you back, and take the actions we’ll be guiding you through, you will be able to tell the truth about how you feel and ask for what you want more and more. If you keep practicing them, these skills compound in value for the rest of your life.

Come with me on this journey.

Take up the space you’ve been programmed to shrink from. Ask for what you actually want in life, love, and your career. And finally say your fucking truths out loud.
