I want to talk to you about something that a lot of women have trouble with – the concept of pleasure. As human beings, we are innately wired to seek pleasure and avoid pain. And, over the course of history, we evolved to find things – like food, sex, and natural habitats – that keep the species going to be pleasurable.
The dictionary defines pleasure as “a feeling of happy satisfaction or enjoyment.” Most often when we talk about pleasure, we mean physical pleasure—something tastes or smells good, looks appealing, or feels good to our bodies. It’s sex, food, drink, relaxation. Humans are innately wired to seek pleasure and avoid pain.
