I’ve received lots of great questions from you guys over the last week, so I thought I’d bring you another Listener Q&A episode! These questions were so interesting and thoughtful, and I’m excited to address these topics on the podcast today.
I’m back with a listener Q&A episode this week but I’m taking a slightly different approach this time. Instead of answering longer coaching questions, I asked my Instagram audience for some questions they wanted answering, so I’ve got a few to share with you on the podcast.
Performance anxiety is something I’m sure all of you can relate to in some capacity, whether it’s a live talk or sporting event, or even when it comes to your thought work. It can be absolutely crippling and produce more anxiety than necessary, especially when we preemptively think about how we’ll feel when we have to get out there and perform. So this week, I’m approaching this concept from a slightly different perspective to show you what it really is, how we often exacerbate this negative feeling, and how to start resolving it.
Scarcity is something that shows up for all of us in some area of our lives, and you might notice it in several for you. Time, money, love, your job, the list goes on. It comes up in any context you can think of and hinders us from going after what we truly want. Staying stuck in this cycle of scarcity thinking will keep producing the same unwanted results over and over, so today I’m helping you step out of it.
I’m outlining my beliefs on internalized biases. We all have them, whether we’re conscious of them or not, as we live in a society where people have explicitly or implicitly taught us certain biases. It can be difficult to accept the thoughts we deem to be wrong or ugly that we’ve internalized about ourselves or others, but rejecting them is far from useful.
The concept I’m discussing today is one I briefly mentioned in a previous episode and I received lots of requests to expand on it, so that’s what I’m bringing you this week. The human ecosystem is a concept that I developed early on in my own thought work journey when I was trying to change the behaviors I didn’t like in the people around me – especially my partner at the time – but keep the ones I did.
